The floor of High Valley has an altitude of 1800 feet with volcanic hillsides rising as high as 2500 feet above sea level. High Valley property owners such as Jeff Chardonnay and the neighboring land owners are successfully growing world class wine grapes resulting in gold medal wines.
High Valley boasts a unique collection of volcanic and alluvial soils. Together with uniquely differing microclimates, the valley’s varied topography provides exceptional growing conditions for grape vines.
Meticulously planted vineyards on the cooler valley floor are interspersed with natural ponds, preserved wetlands and ancient oak trees. Perfect for white varietals that benefit from a longer growing season and ripening time to produce maximum flavor concentrations, these vineyards are producing exceptional Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc.
The hillsides are perfectly suited for red varietals such as Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot. Thriving on the high, warmer slopes with shallow rocky soils, the vines produce compact grapes with a large skin to juice ratio, which makes for deeply flavorful berries.
